The Talbots Charge Card
Talbots charge cards and credit cards are offered under the Talbots awards program. The provided charge cards are not the same as credit cards, because the balance must be paid off in full with each billing cycle. If you want a credit card, then the platinum credit awards program is for you. There are three awards schemes in this program – red, platinum and black. Each card has a points scheme, and you can build up your points with every Talbots purchase. One you have accrued 500 points, you will be awarded a $25 appreciation dividend. You also get birthday bonus discounts and bonus point events. When you take out the card, you will receive a discount on your first purchase.
The red card offers half a point for every dollar you spend, and a 10% off birthday bonus. The platinum card offers 1 point for every dollar you spend, a 15% off birthday bonus, and an extra 5% discount at Talbots sales events. Black gives you everything that platinum does, but with 1.5 points per dollar spent, free shipping on all catalog and online purchases, and points rollover for unused points at the end of the year. The percentage for appreciation dividends also increases from red to black, with red offering 2.5%, platinum offering 5% and black offering 6.25%. The red and platinum cards require no commitments from you, though the black card requires you to spend at least $1000 per calendar year to qualify.
Appreciation dividends can be redeemed to receive money off of any Talbots purchase, as long as the price of the purchase exceeds the dividend amount. They last for 6 months so make sure you use them before they go out of date.
