Deposits: Before your new DME service is connected, you may be required to provide a deposit. You do not have to pay a deposit if you can prove a record of good credit for the last 12 months, and pass a background credit check. Deposits are a maximum of one sixth of the service locations previous 12 months of billing.

The roots of the utility go back to 1892, when the first electric plant was created in Denton by Robert Storey. The plant was purchased by the City of Denton in 1905.
