Learn More About Erie Insurance
Erie Insurance started out with the vision of two men creating an insurance company like no other… one that emphasized customer service above all else. Erie Insurance still claims to stand by their mission statement, ““The ERIE is Above all in SERvIcE.” In the 1900’s, this company used to let their customers make collect phone calls when they needed insurance assistance, so it appears they certainly did have service above all! Now, they have won a top spot in J.D. Power Auto, and operate in 12 states and the District of Columbia with more than 20 field offices.
Erie Insurance offers auto, home, business, and life insurance, and 12,000 of its independent agents serve policies to their customers. This is the story of that vision—the journey that took ERIE from its humble roots in 1925 to a FORTUNE® 500 company with over 5,000 employees and 5 million policies in force today. Erie’s two founders – H.O. Hirt and O.G. Crawford have left their mark on the community as ERIE continues to uphold the importance of preservation in the city of Erie and restored many historic buildings.
