Harrods
Harrods is a high-end department store, and despite the store’s singular location, is the single biggest department store in Europe, famous throughout the world and a tourist attraction in its own right. The store sells products across the spectrum, from clothing to stationary, homeware, electronics and cuisine.
Earning Rewards with Harrods
Aside from the Harrods Credit Card, customers are able to make excellent savings and be rewarded for their loyalty with the Harrods Rewards card. This is a rewards program which gives you points for each pound you spend – 1 point per pound in the Green 1 Tier, and 2 and 3 points per pound in the Green 2 and Gold Tiers. Your Tier, and as such the amount of points you get for making purchases, depends on the amount you spend each year, with Green 2 applicable for a £2,000-£4,999 yearly spend and Gold for £5,000-£9,999. Once you accrue 500 points you then receive a £5 at a selected date.
Using this rewards card in conjunction with a credit card is Harrod’s way of offering their own store-card with rewards. There is a Harrods American Express Credit Card available, but you can only get your hands on this card if you have a prodigious credit history, are an existing Amex cardholder, and receive an invitation from Amex for the card.
For those lucky enough to fall into this category, the card provides you 2 points on top of any points you already get per pound with the Harrods Rewards Card, and 1 point everywhere else where Amex is accepted. This could mean at least 5 points per pound spent, which would equal at least £5 rebate per £100 spent. You also get 1,000 bonus points upon approval, exclusive cardholder events, and some of the best service for any credit card you are every likely to get thanks to Amex.
As this card is invite-only, there is no information displayed on terms and conditions except an annual fee of £150.
