How Do I Pay My Pacific Gas & Electric Bill?
You can pay your PG&E bill online, by phone, or by mail.
Online Bill Pay: Your can make your Pacific Gas & Electric bill payments online with My Energy. The online service lets you make single payments and check your current balance, and you can set up account alerts to remind you when bills are due. There is also the option to set up recurring payments, and with e-bills you can check your billing history. You cannot use your credit/debit card to make payments. EZ Pay: With this independent service provider you can make single bill payments online. You cannot set up recurring payments and there is a $1.25 fee for each payment you make, though you are able to use your credit/debit card to make payments and there is no need to register for an online account.
Pay by Phone: The PG&E billing phone number is 877-704-8470. With the telephone payment service you can pay with your bank account or with your debit/credit card. There is a $1.25 fee.
Mail Bill Pay: The Pacific Gas & Electric bill payment address is: PG&E, PO Box 997300, Sacramento, CA 95899-7300. You should check your paper bills for more information. Make your check payable to PG&E.
Pay in Person: There are plenty of PG&E locations that you can visit to make a bill payment in person. There are over 650 authorized Neighborhood Payment Center locations situated across the areas that PG&E services (these are often open after business hours), as well as 75 Customer Service Offices. Payments made before 5PM are posted the same day. There is no payment service charge. For the authorized Neighborhood Payment Center locations, you can make payments by cash, check, money order, cashier check, and debit/credit cards. Self-service kiosks are available at select Customer Services Officers. These kiosks accept cash, check, Visa and MasterCard. No change is provided, and there is a $1.25 fee for using Visa and MasterCard.
Other Payment Options: Western Union is a popular payment processor that lets you make utility bill payments online or at the Western Union location. Debit and credit payments are accepted – Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
Account Opening and Closing
Open New Account: To start a new service with PG&E, call 1-800-743-5000.
Close Existing Account: Log in to the online service and select a stop date, or complete the Stop Service form available online.
Service Transfer: If you are moving location to a new PG&E service area, you can transfer your service through the online account or by completing a Transfer Service form online.
